The morning breakfasts and evening meals were all served buffet-style in the hotels. They were all-you-can-eat, with salads and a variety of cakes, mousses, and pastries for dessert.
Our first meal in Tiberias: beef, potatoes, rice, and carrots - a pretty average American meal.
Breakfasts usually offered scrambled eggs, cheeses, and breads. The scrambled eggs with salsa was very good.
St. Peter's Fish, for lunch at the Sea of Galilee, was very bony, but made an interesting experience!
Another lunch choice was a salad bar, with a nice variety of vegetables.
The traditional schawarma for another lunch is pita bread, hummus, tomato, and cucumber, with a little lamb.
After a week of salads and scrambled eggs, Carol was craving pizza. On our free day in Jerusalem, we found a place that sold pizza by the slice, with tomato slices.
Another traditional lunch is falafel; pita bread stuffed with hummus and vegetables, without meat.
Our last meal included fish, beef, and a vegetable strudel.
